276 SLT meeting - PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION - School Leadership Team meeting in room 703 for Battery Park City School

During this monthly meeting at school in room 703 from 3pm to 4pm, elected members of the School Leadership Team (SLT) may participate.

According to the SLT bylaws, non-member attendees may attend and observe, but they not participate.

There will be updates from each SLT meeting provided during the next General Meeting which is open to attendance and participation from all parents of PS / IS 276 students.

If you plan to attend and observe an SLT meeting, it would be helpful for us to receive notice in advance. Please email Alexis Tabor at alexis.tabor@bpcschool.orgso we can welcome you.

Here are the full details for non-member attendees from the bylaws:

3.3 Non-member attendees are allowed to observe but can not participate in SLT meetings. Non-member attendees must sit in a designated non-member attendee section. If any non-member attendee causes disruption and does not comply with requests to refrain, they may be escorted from the meeting by school security. Non-member attendees are allowed to record the SLT meetings through the use of photographs, webcast, and other audio and/or video means in adherence to the following guidelines:

a. Request that non-member attendees identify they are recording and method thereof (audio or video) to the school leadership members prior to recording

b. No flash from cameras

c. No equipment that makes noise


d. No close-up photos

Non-members may request speaking time in advance of an SLT meeting. According to the SLT bylaws, here is the process:

3.1 The regularly scheduled team meetings will be open to the entire school community.

Members of the school community who are not team members may request speaking time at meetings to discuss specific topics. All such requests must be submitted in writing to the Chairperson or Co-Chairpersons at least a week in advance of the scheduled meeting. Non­ members are encouraged to bring issues of concern to their constituent representative(s) on the team prior to team meetings. Requests for topics of discussion should be submitted in writing at least one week in advance of the meeting date.
