Here are some of the volunteer opportunities that will be available this year:
General Heading / Committee
General Volunteer. Will be contacted when the PA needs parent parent volunteers for school events or other needs.
Data Entry. General Data Entry and spreadsheet management.
General - Processing Credit Card Payments. Processing Credit Card Payments in person (apparel and ticket sales and donations) at each PTA event. Access to payment processing systems a plus.
Communications
Website Programming and Maintenance. Website programming and maintenance skills to help make sure the PTA website is up to date with the latest and most useful information so that all parents can stay in the know.
Graphic Design. Design artwork for banners, posters, advertisement and more.
Videographer. Videographer & Promotional Videos Editor to help PTA with various video materials
Zoom Meeting/Hybrid Meeting Manager. Help with set up and running events on Zoom. Require help of someone with good understanding of Zoom core features (webinar and polling functionalities) and interest to be the behind the scene host on various PTA events.
Spring Gala
Spring Gala Marketing. Develop and help execute marketing for our Spring Gala.
Auction Donation Solicitation. Solicit auction donations from companies/stores for the annual online auction.
Director of Gratitude. Generate donation tax receipts and thank-you letters and emails for donations. Tech aptitude and strong attention to details is important in this role.
Auction Platform Management. Data Management within the Fundraising System to update donations on the One Cause platform (Prior CRM experience is helpful).
Spring Gala Ticket Sales. Organizing and selling tickets for the Spring Gala (virtual and in person ticket sales). Payment processing system a plus.
Apparel and Merchandise
Apparel and Merch Design and Production. Design & Production of PS/IS 276 Merchandise (prior experience is strongly preferred).
Apparel and Merch Sales. Sell school apparel and merchandise at PTA meetings and school events (in person). Payment processing system a plus.
Halloween
Halloween Food. Help organize the pizza and Bake Sale during the Halloween party.
Halloween Games/Crafts. Help to plan and execute games/crafts/entertainment for the Halloween party.
Halloween Ticket/Wristband Coordinator. Help with ticket/wristband distribution.
Halloween Parade Coordinator. Help coordinate the Halloween parade.
Halloween Decor. Help decorate the school for the Halloween party.
International Night
International Night Coordinator. Help create a vision and execution plan for the first ever International Night event at PS/IS 276.
End of Year Celebration and Run for Knowledge
End of Year Celebration and Run for Knowledge. The end of the year celebration was a huge success last year! Help coordinate food/drink vendors, entertainment and more.
Other Committees.
Grant Writing. Assist Principal Terri in grant writing for the school (experienced grant writers needed).
Hospitality Committee. Hospitality Committee (Procure, set up and serve refreshments before monthly PTA meetings or PTA parent nights - if those take place on school premises).
School Photo Days. Help coordinate the movement of students to and from photo sessions and the distribution of photo orders.
Yearbook Committee. Help to create lasting memories by overseeing the creation and editing of the yearbook. Experience with Pictavo a plus but not necessary.
Diversity Committee. Work on diversity issues with Principal Terri and plan diversity events/speakers for the school.
Skate Night Organizer. Help coordinate Skate Night at Brookfield Rink.
Parent Event Organizer. Organize one event (Mixology at ICE, Bowling, etc.) virtual or in-person for parents only potentially in November.
Virtual Read-A-Thon. Help coordinate and promote a virtual read-a-thon event.
